Privacy Policy

Autofillio ("the extension") is a Chrome browser extension that autofills job application forms using profile data you provide. This policy explains how your data is handled.

1. Data We Collect

Autofillio stores the following data locally on your device using Chrome's built-in chrome.storage.local API:

Your profile information (name, email, phone, location, work experience, education)
Your resume file (stored locally as base64)
Your AI API key (Claude, OpenAI, or Gemini — entered voluntarily)
Custom Q&A pairs you add
License key (if purchased)

This data never leaves your device. It is not sent to our servers, not shared with third parties, and not used for any purpose other than filling job application forms on your behalf.

2. AI API Calls

If you choose to use AI features, your profile data and essay questions from the page are sent directly from your browser to the AI provider you selected (Anthropic, OpenAI, or Google). These requests go directly to the provider's API using your own API key. We do not proxy, log, or intercept these requests.

3. Data We Do NOT Collect

We do not collect analytics or usage data
We do not track which websites you visit
We do not have any backend servers that receive your data
We do not use cookies or tracking pixels
We do not sell or share any data with third parties

4. Permissions Used

activeTab — to read and fill form fields on the current job application page
storage — to save your profile locally on your device
scripting — to inject the autofill script into job application pages
tabs — to detect the current page URL
host_permissions (<all_urls>) — job applications exist on thousands of different websites; this allows the extension to work on any of them

5. Data Deletion

You can delete all stored data at any time by:

Clearing the extension's data in Chrome settings, or
Uninstalling the extension

6. Children's Privacy

Autofillio is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect data from minors.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as the extension evolves. The "last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision.
